FREND is the solo artist project of UK songwriter Tom Woods
FREND weaves wistful stories of friendship, love and loss through energising synthpop, indie electronic and new wave contours.
After playing bass with indie and power pop bands The Dizzy Sharks and Yellow Alert around the East of England, Tom now lives and works in the NorthWest near Liverpool, collaborating as a songwriter with other artists, writers and producers in UK, Europe, US and further afield. Achievements include being commended and semi-final listed in 2024 by The UK Songwriting Contest.
FREND’s debut single ‘Take a Look’ released in March 2024, with successive singles, each working with a different international music producer, gathering momentum and gaining critical praise from peers, radio DJs and music press alike. The last single 'ISOLATOR (IS IT TOO LATE) featured on 'BBC Introducing' ahead of its release.
The brand new single 'SPELL OF THE STARS' drops on 07 May 2026.
